Who owns Frontier Internet?

Verizon does. Frontier Communications became a Verizon company in February 2026, greatly expanding the reach of the Verizon Fios network.

For now, Verizon and Frontier will continue operating separately, and current customers won’t experience major interruptions to their day-to-day home internet connectivity, plans and pricing, or customer support resources. However, the savings for Verizon and Frontier customers start now, and increased fiber access will benefit all customers for years to come.

What drove the Frontier-Verizon merger?

Meeting the rising demand for fiber internet

The primary reason for the Verizon merger was to increase fiber access nationwide. Formerly with a footprint in 15 states, Verizon now provides fiber internet to residential and business customers in 31 states and Washington, DC.

Across the United States, customers like you are increasingly looking for faster, more reliable internet connections to power 4K streaming, gaming, remote work, cloud use, and smart homes.

Fiber technology offers several advantages over cable, DSL, and other technologies. Multi-gigabit speeds let you use more devices without competing for bandwidth, symmetrical upload rates make for smoother gaming and file sharing, and lower latencies give you faster response times and higher reliability. Additionally, fiber networks allow customers to upgrade to much faster speeds without massive infrastructure upgrades or corresponding rate increases.

Serving modern needs with 5G plans & bundle discounts

Cellular phone and data services have been crucial to American life for decades—and fiber and 5G technologies are quickly gaining the same relevance for residential and business internet customers.

Because of the Frontier merger, Verizon can now ensure that millions more households save on services essential to modern lifestyles.

  • The longstanding Verizon Mobile + Home discount offers $15/mo savings on Verizon Fios or Frontier internet services when you also have a Verizon Wireless plan.
  • The Verizon myPlan perks program offers discounts on streaming, shopping, and other popular digital services.
