Business Digital Voice is the VolP calling system offered exclusively by Verizon that streams over a cloud-based IP network. With over 30 calling features, you can transfer calls between office lines and to mobile phones, ensuring you don't miss any important calls.
You also get unlimited long-distance calling to anywhere in the United States, as well as Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. To enjoy all of the perks Business Digital Voice offers, you must have an internet connection running at a minimum of 5 Mbps.
If you're not in the market for VoIP, Standard Phone is the traditional phone service Verizon offers. You can also opt for bundles that include the Standard Phone service, which includes your favorite calling features and two separate lines.
One of those lines provides unlimited long-distance calling anywhere in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. The other line is more basic, best used for processing credit card transactions or receiving faxes. If you select the 3 Mbps internet plan, Standard Phone is the only option available with it.
Most devices use a temporary IP address assigned by your network that will most likely change as time goes on. A static IP (internet protocol) keeps your IP address the same, which simplifies matters if you have a virtual private network (VPN) or a VoIP phone system. It also gives you faster upload and download times. A static IP address is ideal if your device hosts a server, but is not necessary.
